Thanksgiving time, that most American of holidays,
is a good time to reflect and find perspective. It would be nice if we could
all commit to trying to treat one another with more humanity and understanding.
It would be great if that attitude progressed over time, and we could evolve as
a society toward a human race ever more united and rooted in peace and
comprehension.
It would be wonderful, but it may be a
long time coming. Consider the perspectives of past and future in leadership of
the society we share in these Thanksgiving Day messages from the outgoing US president
and the incoming chief executive.
President Joe Biden on X:
"Happy Thanksgiving, America. May we
use this moment to take time from our busy lives and focus on what matters
most: our families, our friends, our neighbors, and the fact that we've been
blessed to live in America, the greatest country on Earth."
President-elect Donald Trump on Truth
Social:
"Happy Thanksgiving to all, including
to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country,
but who have miserably failed."
We can at least be grateful to both
presidents for showing us clearly who they both are.
