President Trump's new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy — Qualifications for the job:
* No Post Office experience.
* Trump campaign donor.
* Clearly laid-out plan to cut overtime for peak mail seasons like
General Elections when there will be a major rush to get mail-in ballots to
election boards on time, as well as other budgetary restrictions that will tend
to make postal services slower and less efficient (including removal of
machine-sorters and renewal of hand-sorting in certain jurisdictions).
* Tens of millions of dollars invested in companies that are either USPS
providers or competitors (meaning a conflicting interest in protecting his own
fees for postal-related services while simultaneously undermining USPS services
to create a bigger market for certain of its competitors).
* A loyal Trump supporter, likely to be sensitive to the president's
dual purposes of derailing mail-in voting and pushing for privatization of mail
services.
Perfect!
